Push-to-talk dictation · Windows
Hold a key. Say the sentence. The words are already typed. Your voice never touches the internet. There is nothing to send it to.
Try it: hold the button (or press and hold Right Ctrl). This page is a simulation; the app types into any window.
Three moves, then it is muscle memory

Speak normally. Audio is captured, transcribed and discarded in memory on your own processor. Nothing is written to disk, nothing is uploaded.
The text types itself at your cursor: Word, Chrome, Slack, your IDE, a terminal, a login box. Voyce does not care which.
The difference that actually matters
The cloud dictation model
Audio is encoded and posted to a server you do not own, in a country you did not choose, under a retention policy you did not write. It works well, right up until the sentence is privileged, clinical, or under NDA.

Voyce
faster-whisper runs int8 on your CPU. There is no API key field, because there is no API. Pull the network cable out and it keeps working exactly the same: on a plane, in a SCIF, on a laptop that has never been online.
Offline · no account · no per-minute cost
The part that stops it being annoying
Every engine mishears names, products and jargon. Voyce gives you a test box: fix the word once, and it stops getting it wrong.
Learned, added to your lexicon
The correction is lexical, not acoustic, measured over
1,770 transcriptions, seeded terms went from 2 of 5 correct to 5 of 5, with no accuracy
cost to ordinary speech even at 500 saved terms. The lexicon lives in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Voyce\
on your machine. It is yours; it is not training anybody's model.
Two minutes, no admin password
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Voyce\On the list. You will hear once, when it ships.

Monthly
Every feature, every update. Stop whenever: the app keeps running to the end of the period you paid for.

One payment, yours permanently, on every PC you own. There is no server bill behind Voyce, because your CPU does the work, so there is no rent to justify.
Buy it outrightNo. Speech-to-text runs locally through faster-whisper on your CPU. There is no upload path in the app and no account to sign into. Disconnect the machine from the network and dictation behaves identically.
No. Voyce runs an int8-quantised model on the CPU on purpose: the fast model is
around 74 MB, the accurate one around 250 MB. A measured sentence returned in
0.51s on ordinary desktop hardware.
Right Ctrl by default. Open the control panel, click Set key, press whatever you want, and that is now the key. You can also switch from Hold to Toggle if you would rather tap once to start and once to stop.
Wherever your cursor already is. Voyce sends keystrokes to the focused window, so it works in Word, Chrome, Slack, Outlook, VS Code, a terminal, anything that accepts typing. There is also a built-in test box for trying phrases without touching your work.
Because the speech model is inside it. Cloud dictation apps are small downloads because the hard part lives on somebody else's machine. Here the hard part ships to you once, and then never phones home.
Install Microsoft's free Evergreen WebView2 Runtime and launch Voyce again.
it renders the control panel. Most Windows 10 and 11 machines already have it. If it
still misbehaves, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Voyce\voyce.log is the file to send us.
Yes. A lifetime licence covers every PC you own and every update. If you buy as a consumer, any statutory cancellation right in your own country still applies. The full terms are linked below.
